How to Play Last Pick Wins

Game Rules

Last Pick Wins is a "Last Man Standing" football prediction game. Pick a winning team each week to survive.

The Basics
  • Each round, pick one team you think will win their match
  • If your team wins, you survive to the next round
  • If your team loses or draws, you are eliminated
  • The last player remaining wins
The Catch

Once you pick a team, you cannot pick them again until a new game starts. When the current game ends (someone wins or everyone is out), a new game begins and all teams are available again.

Pick Results
Win Your team won their match - you survive
Lose Your team lost or drew - you are eliminated
Pending Match hasn't been played yet
Bye Your team's match was postponed - you survive
Deadlines

Picks lock before the first match of each round kicks off. Once locked, you cannot change your pick. If you don't submit a pick in time, you may be automatically eliminated (depending on your group's settings).

For Players

Getting Started
  1. Your group owner will send you a personal link to join the game
  2. Click the link to access your dashboard
  3. Optionally set a display name so others know who you are
Each Round
  1. Check your dashboard to see available teams (teams you haven't used yet)
  2. Select a team you think will win this round
  3. Submit your pick before the deadline
  4. Wait for match results to be processed
  5. If your team won, you advance. If not, you're out.
Tips
  • Don't use strong teams too early - save them for when you really need them
  • Check the fixture list to see who your team is playing
  • Submit your pick early to avoid missing the deadline
  • Keep track of which teams you've already used

For Group Owners

Group owners organize and manage their own competitions.

Setting Up a Group
  1. Register an account
    Go to the registration page and enter your email. You'll receive a login link.
  2. Create a group
    From your dashboard, enter a name for your competition and create the group.
  3. Add players
    Go to your group's player management page. Enter each player's name to create their entry. The system generates a unique link for each player.
  4. Distribute links
    Send each player their personal link. They'll use this to access the game and submit picks.
  5. Configure settings
    Adjust your group's rules (draws, auto-elimination, deadlines) to suit your competition.
Managing Players
  • Pause a link - Temporarily prevent a player from accessing the game
  • Resume a link - Restore access for a paused player
  • Delete a player - Permanently remove a player and their link
During the Competition
  • Monitor your group's progress from the dashboard
  • View player picks and results
  • The site admin processes match results each round
  • Winners are declared automatically when only one player remains

Group Settings

Each group can customize these rules:

Setting Default Description
Allow Draws Off When enabled, players whose team draws will survive the round. When disabled, only wins count - draws eliminate you.
Auto-Eliminate No Pick On When enabled, players who don't submit a pick before the deadline are automatically eliminated. When disabled, they survive.
Pick Deadline Hours 0 How many hours before the first match of the round picks are locked. Set to 0 to lock at kickoff, or higher for earlier deadlines.
